Minutes of the Board Meeting
August 19, 2004

Participants: Tom McGill, Pat Sturgill, Harold-Burke-Sivers, Allan Laird, Steve Ritteriser, Bill Curtin
Location: Red Lion Hotel, Pasco, Wa.

The meeting was called to order by President Tom McGill at 11:30 am. At the conclusion of the planning that was held on August 18 and 19 with attending WACLEA members.The treasurer’s report was presented on line to the board members by Business Agent Steve Ritteriser. The financial report as of August 13, 2004 shows a balance of $16,778.00 with some outstanding bills and some outstanding income. Ritteriser advised that he had opened a new account with US Bank and is in the process of closing the Bank of America account.
Fall Conference:
Location has been determined to be held in Pasco at the Red Lion Hotel on October 13,14,15, 2004. Members of the board reviewed the facilities over the last two days. Steve Ritteriser presented the contract with the Red Lion that had been prepared to cover the conference and suggested that the President sign the agreement on behalf of the organization. Motion was made by Sturgill, seconded by Curtin. Motion passed. There was consensus that the registration fees for the conference would be $100.00 for members and $125.00 for non members. It was also determined that the organization would waive the conference fee, one time, for any department head who has never been to one of our training conferences.
State/Province Reports: Written Idaho report was filed by Darrell Stewart, which is submitted at the end of this document.
Old Business: Previous board discussion about strategic planning led to the planning session that was held in Pasco on August 18 and 19. 20 WACLEA members attended this session that was facilitated by Dale Lindekugel from Eastern Washington University. Many discussion items were brought up narrowed down and are ready to be fine tuned for the future. The outcome of this planning session will be presented on Friday morning during the fall conference.New Business: None

Next Board Meeting: Wed, October 13, 2004 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Red Lion Hotel, Pasco, Washington.
