There was extensive discussion regarding the communication difficulties between Pat Sturgill, Marsha Strill, and Mike Sletton and Dominique from Seattle University. It was decided that the Academy should be the 1st and 2nd weeks of August but the dates are still tentative because, as Pat pointed out, he has had a lot of problems getting together with Mike and Dominique to arrange details.

There was some discussion about changing the location for Spring Conference 2007 to Hood River or Edgefield, Oregon. Harold said he would do some research on these areas.
Possible Conference Topics:
There was mention of the need to have Clery Act workshops at the next conference. Pat said it could be a sort of round table discussion. Pat suggested bringing in a representative from the Department of Education. Allan suggested someone from "Security on Campus." Bob said he gets questions from his VP of students about it all the time and may be interested in attending. There was extensive discussion on the Clery Act and whether Health Services people have a requirement to report.
Disaster Planning Pandemic Flu and was discussed as a posible conference topic. Jerry talked about the fact the there is a federal requirement for all first responders to be National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) certified.
Another proposed conference topic that was discussed was the Internet and Facebook type accounts. Harold suggested that departments could used websites like Facebook as an investigative tool.
A possible workshop for Fall conference could be Report Exec. It is a useful tool in Clery reporting but many department heads may not know how to use it.
Other conference topics that were discussed were: Field Training Program, Gangs, Officer Retention Sustainment Training.
Vice-President Vacancy:
Steve Rittereiser was moved into a new position at Central Washington and is no longer able to fill the VP position. Allan appointed Harold Burke-Sivers to fill the VP position and the board unanimously agreed. This leaves an opening for an Oregon Representative. The board agreed to fill this opening at a later date.
