The Western Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (WACLEA) is a non-profit campus police and security association which operates in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, Alaska, and British Columbia, Canada. We work closely with the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) and other law enforcement organizations.
WACLEA is the premier training and support association for campus law enforcement in the Northwest and beyond. Our training programs provide professional level training to enhance the skills and knowledge of administrators and officer level staff. Networking opportunities through the association allow for members to draw on the expertise of others and share resources, ideas and best practices.
Our Certificate of Incorporation is on file in the State of Washington as a non-profit under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Certificate of Incorporation and our IRS letter of compliance is posted here.
During the 2017 WACLEA Conference Award Banquet we presented the 2017 Department of the Year award to Chief Jace Smith and the Lane Community College Department of Public Safety for their outstanding achievements in problem solving, campus safety, and community service.
The two recipients of the Robert G. Peterson Memorial Scholarships were Victor Wong from Simon Fraser University and Colton Cervantes from Lewis-Clark State College.
Also this year we presented a plaque to Jim Bennett thanking him for his service on the Board. Allan Laird and Barbara Pierce were honored for their many years of service to WACLEA.
Steve Hansen assumed the presidency, Jason Berthon-Koch is our immediate past president, and Jace Smith accepted the nomination as our new vice-president. Allan Laird graciously accepted another term as Treasurer and the Representatives remained the same.
