The 2019 Conference will
be November 5-7th, 2019 at the Clover Island Inn, Kennewick, WA. A block
of rooms will be set aside at a reduced rate.
We have secured Stephen
Lopez to teach Active Shooter/Killer Response Training for Security
Personnel. This one-day program provides both armed and unarmed security
personnel (those who do not have full police powers) with guidance on what they
can do prior to, during, and after an active killer/shooter incident on a
college/university campus. The training includes a classroom portion
which covers a variety of roles the security staff can handle during such an
incident, as well as considerations when teaching responses to faculty, staff,
and students in the institution. The second portion of the course involves
moderate hands-on practice. Topics covered include simple techniques for
neutralizing a killer who is too close for other options, techniques for
barricading doors that don't have locks, how to "Stop the Bleed" and
transport injured people, and methods of monitoring a killer from a distance in
order to quickly direct police officers in the right direction to save time and
lives. The course is designed to be a train the trainer program that you can
take back to your security team.
